Spring of Life -

John Ledyard
In 1786 Thomas Jefferson,
then American ambassador to France, supported a Connecticut
Yankee by the name of John Ledyard in a dream to be the
first recorded person to cross the American continent on
foot. His plan was to go through Russia, cross into Alaska
and walk to the Mississippi River. He planned to do it
almost alone. He took two hunting dogs as companions. It
seemed like a wild plan but who knows it might have worked
had not Catherine the Great arrested him in Siberia.
So much for dreams gone
array. God Himself has had some dreams go array. One of them
happened in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve decided to
try it their way. Fortunately for all of us God did not give
up on them but put dream B into action.
Dream B actually
was a nightmare for God. It required the sacrifice of Jesus.
But the end result is His dream. He wants you and me to join
Him in an eternal journey not across the sea bound shores of
a single continent but across the endless reaches of the
universe making John Ledyards failed journey look like
nothing.
Dont let Him down.
Join Him. Have the adventure of your eternal life.
