Roger Bothwell A Wet-Vac It's time for smart children to start making hints about next month's event if they are to receive something they truly desire. My four-year-old grandson has made his wishes known. He wants a Wet-Vac! I am trying to figure out this one. Maybe it's because he has a new puppy and he is smarter than the rest of us. I would say I want world peace for Christmas but then I would sound like a Miss America contestant. Anyway I should seek something within the realm of reality. World peace isn't going to happen. I don't want to be a fatalist just a realist. Actually a Wet-Vac isn't a bad idea. There are plenty of occasions when one would be quite handy. God certainly could use a good Wet-Vac so He could clean up the bloody messes we are constantly making around the world. I was thinking of war but then there are fuel spills in our oceans. He could vacuum up the oil. He really is quite good at cleaning things. On a daily basis He cleans up lives. He can suck the sin right out of characters. I was tempted to talk about drunks but that is too easy a target. The really hard targets are the tough nuts that have been church members for decades. Just getting them to recognize their need is a major challenge. Thankfully He is able to clean up all our messes. If we come to Him in faith believing that He will, He will.
