How To Raise Your I.Q.
Would you like to be smarter? Instead of turning on your television to wile
away the evening before retiring, pick up a copy of the works of William
Shakespeare. Slowly decipher the speeches of Hamlet and Macbeth.
Memorize a sonnet or two. The beauty of the English language and the
poetic flow will strengthen your mind as you learn the source of so many of
our expressions. This is guaranteed to raise your I.Q.
How would you like smarter than what that will do? Instead of grabbling
with the anti-Semitism of the Merchant of Venice, pick up a copy of the
works of Paul. Slowly decipher the logic of salvation as carefully laid out
by the master of Hebrew thought and Aristotelian logic. Memorize Hebrews
11 and I Corinthians 13. Let the beauty of the English language and the
poetic flow of I Corinthians 10 strengthen your mind as you learn the source
of Christian History.
So what's the difference? Will not they both produce the same natural fruit
of intellectual development? They would except for one very huge
difference. Angels will rush to your side as you open God's word. The
Holy Spirit will upon your invitation grant you extraordinary insights as you
grow capable of understanding. Shakespeare is wonderful but he lacks the
divine help. In Ephesians 3:16 Paul prayed, "That God would grant you,
according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his
Spirit in the inner man." With Shakespeare you are on your own. With
John and Paul you have access to the intellectual treasure house of heaven.
