Complete In Christ

Colossians 1:9 tells us all the fullness of the Godhead is in Jesus. The word "full" means "everything." There is not one iota of divine power and wisdom that does not reside in Jesus. He is the one who designed the law of gravity and every other physical law that governs our physical existence. Jesus encompasses everything good. The idea grows more exciting in verse 10. We too can be complete.

Being that we are aware of our human limitations, the frailties of our bodies and the restrictions of our intelligence, it is dazzling to consider this promise. Look in the mirror and say, "I can be complete in Christ." Everything inside protests saying, "No. It just can't be. Maybe its true for some famous preacher or some holy person but not me." Then we are confronted with the egalitarianism of God. Acts 10:34. God is no respecter of persons. He doesn't prefer men over women. He doesn't discriminate regarding levels of education or nationality. It does not matter where we were born. The promises are for anyone who by faith claims them. Just as an oak tree is in the acorn so is the reality of this in us.

Do you want to think thrilling thoughts today? Do you want your intellect to rise to new levels? Do you want to finish the day smarter and wiser than you were went you woke up? Claim Colossians 1:10 for yourself and ponder as you go about your daily tasks. We are complete in Him and He is all the fullness of the Godhead. I don't think we know what we are or have a clue as to what we can be. But God does.
