Watching A Spanish Movie

My sister is sitting in the other room watching (?) a movie on television. I am fascinated because it is in Spanish and she doesn't speak Spanish. Actually she is multi-tasking and I'm not sure it has even occurred to her she cannot understand the dialogue. She reminds me of myself being so busy doing things I am often not even aware that God's Spirit is trying to tell me something. It is possible to become so focused on trivial everyday items we just don't hear. In my sister's case it is not that the volume is turned low. It isn't. And I don't think the Holy Spirit always speaks in a still small voice. While that is true sometimes I do think there are times He shouts and yells at us trying to get our attention.

I have seen deacons in church so busy collecting the offering, seating people and making sure the volume on the mike was just right that they never actually heard a word of the sermon. In Exodus 19 we read the following account of God trying to get people's attention. "Mount Sinai was all smoke because GOD had come down on it as
