Lego Blocks

Lego building blocks are the ultimate toy. They are a minute universe. Each almost indestructible Lego block is like an atom able to be attached to other almost indestructible blocks (atoms) to create something new (a molecule) which can in the future be taken apart and used again to make something different. Just as an atom that contributes to the existence of your index finger could once have been in the tooth of a dinosaur, a Lego block can today be part of a toy car and tomorrow a toy airplane.

Events are similar to Lego blocks. Depending upon one's culture there is a commonality to life. We have birthdays, graduations and weddings. We have opportunities and disappointments. We have children and grandchildren. It is the basic flow of life. Yet each of us crafts a unique experience by building our own life configuration. One person seizes onto an opportunity and builds something positive. Another person allows the opportunity to pass by. One person experiences a major disappointment and uses it as a motivator to do better next time. Another person experiences a major disappointment and says, "I can never do that." They resign themselves to a lesser experience that did not have to be.

Today is a new day. Today each of us will have similar experiences. At the close of the day each of us will have had a unique day. The quality of that day is our choice. Our eternal future is our choice. God presents us with opportunities to live. Satan bids us to come and die. The end result is up to us.
