Strip Mall

We have a new little strip mall in my town. It is like any of a million such places across the land accept for the very interesting order and combination of business located there. There is a pizza place and a new business called, "Tasty." I am not yet sure exactly what wonders "Tasty" will sell but I can make a pretty good guess from the name. Now comes the really interesting item. Situated between the pizza place and "Tasty" is a fitness and weight loss center called, "Curves."

If it is curves one is after I would think Tasty's and the pizza place would be all one needed. Regular visits and patronage would most likely do the trick. Actually isn't the idea of "Curves" for one to get rid of some of the curves?

The combination of stores reminds me of jewelweed and poison ivy that often grow side by side. The jewelweed is a wonderful antidote for the itching caused by the poison ivy. So often in life the solution to a major problem is not far away. It is a matter of awareness and initiative. Rarely do we sin or violate our code of ethics without being aware of the accompanying guilt. Guilt in this case is a good thing. It is the pressure to rectify our behavior. But guilt, helpful as it is, cannot fix anything. For that we need help and it is always just a prayer away.

"He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him." Psalm 91
