Back To Home Page To Archives - Spring of Life - H. Roger Bothwell What Satan and Jesus Have in Common Satan and Jesus have one thing in common. Each did not want us to know something. Jesus did not want us to know all the results of sin. The tree in Eden was called, "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." Adam and Eve ate. They learned. They learned the horror of having a son kill his brother. They learned all about ageing. They learned as their grandchildren and great grandchildren experimented with all manner of evil. It is quite true that there were things Jesus never wanted them to know. Satan never wanted them to know there was a way back into Eden. He never wanted them to know God has a plan for all of us. Satan never wanted us to know no matter how incredibly bad we have been God saves to the uttermost. In Hebrews 7:25 Paul says, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." Oh, yes, Satan never wanted us to know we have an intercessor who will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our intercessor in the courts of heaven is approachable and was one of us. Jesus understands completely what it is to be human. That is about the limit of what Jesus and Satan have in common. Both had information they did not want us to have.
