They come so eager, so full of dreams for the future. It is great to talk to people full of dreams. It is so much more interesting than talking with someone whose dreams have died along life's way. Recently I had a couple in my office who were planning their wedding and I asked when it was they realized they had found the person with whom they wanted to spend the rest of their life. “Well,” He said, "I have loved her for years. It was long before she knew I existed." To which she replied, "No, I always knew he existed. I am sure that I loved him first." To which he replied, "No, I loved her first." To which she replied, “--- I laughed as I thought of I John 4:19 where John say, "We love him, because he first love us." I am suspicious that my young couple will argue for years about who loved who first. But I can assure them of one thing. Long before they loved each other Jesus loved both of them. Just as He has always loved you and me. He loved us first and wants so much for us to love Him in return. We can if we choose to. It is a matter of getting to know Him. And we can do that by spending just a little time each day reading about Him in His word and then talking to Him. He loves to listen.
